In keeping with trends to offer voluminous spaces in sizes smaller than some buyers may expect possible, Tankoa Yachts is promoting the S531 and S532 megayacht models. Offering the same 174-foot (53-meter) LOA and same hull platform, they differ in gross tonnage and amenities. And, they’re ready to start construction on contract, with delivery in about 26 months from signing.
The Tankoa S531 and S532 each are designed outside and in by Francesco Paszkowski Design. Each also is said to boast spaces rivaling those of a megayacht to about 213 feet (65 meters). The lower-deck accommodations are one example. The Tankoa S531 has three VIPs and a traditional guest cabin aft. Further generous, the crew area forward has five cabins, a mess area, and a dedicated galley for them and the captain, who’s housed aft of the wheelhouse. (Note that the galley there is indeed for the crew. The main deck includes a larger galley for the owners and guests’ meals.) The S532 differs in having two guest staterooms and a gym or three total guest staterooms below ecks. Of course, since each project is available for sale, the layout ideas are open to reconfiguration.
Something that buyers may not want to reconfigure, though, is the main deck of the Tankoa S531. A Very Important Person and the owners have their accommodations here, full beam (33’8”, or 10.3 meters). The master suite additionally has fold-down balconies, a feature also in one of the two owners’ areas on the S532. Yes, that megayacht has two master suites, plus a VIP, on the main deck.
Hot tubs, bars, sunpads, sun awnings, and more creature comforts are available for both the Tankoa S531 and S532. So, too, are tender garages and beach clubs, though the S532 combines them. The S532 does offer a benefit her sistership doesn’t: a panoramic skylounge, with full-height glass.
For the crew’s convenience, Tankoa is including an “under-lower deck,” with extra freezer and cold-stowage spaces, on each projects. The area will additionally include the laundry.
Due to having the same hull form, the Tankoa S531 and S532 should see cruise speeds from 14 to 15 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots. The former will do so under MTU power, with Caterpillar diesels taking care of the S532’s performance. A final difference: The Tankoa S531 boasts a gross tonnage expected to exceed 750, with that of the S532 to exceed 780.
In related news, Tankoa Yachts has created a division it calls FCP, or Fully Custom Projects. As the name states, custom megayachts are the focus, from 164 feet to 289 feet (50 to 88 meters, respectively).
