OK, so it’s not football season (“American football” to all of you Europeans and other continent dwellers), but with apologies to the NFL, I’m about to kick off the ultimate guessing game. Take a look at this photo, shot last Wednesday by one of my best yacht spotters, photographer Frank Behling. It’s clearly the superstructure for a yacht, but which yacht—and for which yard? All he could find out was that it was built in Gdansk, Poland, and was traversing the Kiel Canal in Germany en route to Dordrecht, the Netherlands.
Any guesses? Amels was already ruled out; while it does build some components in Poland, they’re hulls, not superstructures.
