Here’s the ultimate accessory for your superyacht’s sundeck—especially if your sun-loving guests like to lounge all day. Called Lasy Solar, it’s a sunbed that automatically rotates to follow the path of the sun.
Created by LMV Design, a furniture company specializing in highly unusual, tricked-out pieces, Lasy Solar relies on solar power. Sensors around the perimeter of the bed’s base charge lithium batteries concealed within it. This means no need to tap your yacht’s gensets, something that environmentally minded owners and crew should be happy about.
As for the sunbed itself, it’s akin to a king-size bed, though a queen-size option is available, too. Marine-grade leather covers the cushion, eliminating concerns over sun damage or sun lotion or other spills ruining it.
While you or your guests are reclining on it, you have a variety of ways to further your enjoyment. For example, you can prop up your head and back via electronic controls. There’s also a series of misters surrounding the bed, keeping you refreshed on hot days. For sundowners on deck or nighttime events, LEDs in the base add a little more atmosphere.
Of course, if you’d rather position yourself as the sun moves, you can order LMV Design’s Lasy Sun Bed, a non-solar version. But really, who wants a plain sunbed for a megayacht when a novel one is available?
Lasy Solar is marketed by a few companies, including AdTim. Base price is €98,000 (about $129,000). Custom color finishes and other materials are available, as are wireless remote commands.
