Here’s your first glimpse at what cruising aboard Aquijo is all about. You can experience it with 11 friends and family in the Med this summer, her first charter season.
Aquijo has attracted a lot of attention due to her LOA: 279 feet (85 meters). She is further an imposing sight on the water because of being three decks high. But, being one of the largest sailing superyachts in the world isn’t what makes her special. Aquijo was commissioned for true global cruising. She will travel essentially everywhere accessible by water on her own bottom, not via the assistance of a transport ship.
The Med is a natural place for a European-built yacht to kick off inaugural cruising. (Oceanco and Vitters Shipyard collaborated on the build.) It’s also a natural place for the yacht’s beach club to get good use. Note that most sailing yachts don’t include beach clubs, due to much more limited space than motoryachts. Not a problem aboard Aquijo. She has a beam of nearly 49 feet (15 meters.) Stairways lead down to the swim platform and then into the beach club. Imagine playing on the watertoys all day, then returning to relax in the beach club. Indulge in the sauna or steam bath. There’s also a hot tub in here (above).
Next, imagine heading back up on deck for pre-dinner cocktails at the indoor-outdoor bar (below). The stews manning this bar, one of the three alfresco ones onboard, can concoct your drink of choice. You can then dine alfresco, under the stars, or head inside for a more formal atmosphere. That atmosphere has contemporary flair by Dölker + Voges. Bold colors and stainless steel trim accentuate the textured woods and leathers throughout the rooms, including the seven staterooms.
Aquijo is part of the central charter fleet of Y.CO. Her weekly base rate: €400,000 (about $448,800 at press time). To check availability, contact Y.CO.
