Come this July, the initial steel cutting for a new yacht, in a new size, takes place at Tankoa Yachts. Hull number one of the Tankoa T580 starts construction then.
The 190-footer (58-meter) is further the first model of her size in the Italian yard’s fleet. Previously, Tankoa has sold several megayachts in the 164-foot (50-meter) size range.
Regardless, the shipyard is staying true to its steel and aluminum construction methods. Additionally, it’s once again collaborating with Francesco Paszkowski for styling and Paszkowski’s studio in combination with Margherita Casprini for interior design. Though interior renderings aren’t available at this time for publicity, the Tankoa T580 will have six staterooms for the owners and guests. A fully custom design, the megayacht will have creature comforts popular with cruisers, too. These include a beach club with opening side hatches, for a more open-air and voluminous look and feel. Furthermore, she’ll have a dedicated tender garage. One of the boats to house here is a nearly 30-foot (9-meter) limo tender, in fact.
Intended as a long-range voyager, the Tankoa T580 should achieve a range upwards of 5,000 nautical miles. She will begin putting that range to the test in April 2024, too.
On a related note, Tankoa’s goal is to sell three yachts exceeding 131 feet (40 meters) annually, according to Euro Contenti, the CEO.
