Typically charter yachts don’t venture much south of the Caribbean in the winter months. The yacht Lauren L is one of the exceptions, though, starting this coming January. The rugged, wild coastlines of Antarctica and Patagonia are yours to discover with her crew. It’s a rare chance to enjoy activities like whale watching, kayaking, and heli-skiing all in one day.
Better yet, the 295-foot (90-meter) megayacht is among those permitted to carry 36 passengers. Therefore, she’s suited to large families or groups of friends traveling together. Even the youngest of travelers is welcome aboard. In fact, Lauren L actually has a dedicated playroom, plus her crew is accustomed to treating the small set to a good time. Between the 45-person crew, including four chefs, and plethora of tenders, guests further can enjoy separate activities throughout each day.

According to Expersea Superyachts, which manages the yacht and books her for charters, Lauren L will charter first in Antarctica. She’ll be there for part of January, which is a summer month in the Southern Hemisphere. Imagine yourself gaping at towering glaciers, for instance, while seals, penguins, and whales are nearby. Expersea and the crew will tailor your itinerary based on your preferences and, of course, the weather. Typically, January temperatures are the most stable, in the mid-30s Fahrenheit (1 to 2 degrees Celsius), and the month sees up to 16 hours of daylight.

Later in January, through March, Lauren L will offer charters in Patagonia, which incorporates Chile and Argentina. She’ll start off in Chile, specifically in Punta Arenas, the southernmost city in the world. Notably, the Patagonia region includes both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. This affords abundant opportunities to explore naturally wild shores and to enjoy on-land adventures. You can go heli-skiing, for example, fly-fishing, horseback riding, and mountain hiking. If you prefer water activities, the megayacht carries kayaks, perfect for fjord experiences. Regardless, expect to see wildlife ranging from whales to pumas.

Further locales you can visit if you charter the yacht Lauren L include Puerto Williams (above). Although technically the southernmost inhabited region on earth, it’s smaller than Punta Arenas, also with a much smaller population. Regardless, since it’s a port, it’s a jumping-off point to venture into the Andes Mountains, deserts, and even Argentina’s wine country. Additionally worth visiting is the Perito Moreno Glacier (top), an extraordinary natural wonder. It’s within a UNESCO World Heritage Site and began forming during the last Ice Age.
Certainly, the yacht Lauren L can navigate all of these adventure-oriented waters because of proper preparations and, interestingly, experience. She chartered the region back in 2018. That lends some peace of mind for a long-desired once-in-a-lifetime trip for you. So will her amenities, keeping your entire party comfortable and relaxed during your voyages. She has 20 staterooms, a library, a gym, and a movie theater. While the kids indulge in the above-mentioned playroom, the grownups can indulge in the remarkable wellness area. It includes an aromatherapy room, a massage room, and a beauty room, plus panoramic views.

Charter rates start at €695,000 (about $750,500) per week, plus expenses.
