Sunseeker 94 Yacht Offers Superyacht-Like Design Details

The latest new model in Sunseeker’s lineup benefits from an ongoing relationship between the British builder and a renowned superyacht design studio. The Sunseeker 94 Yacht, which should particularly appeal to Americans, offers a broad range of interior choices and overall amenities. The variety of choices are more than some competitors provide customers, too.

Certainly as a sign of anticipated success, Sunseeker chose the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show last week to reveal the news. It did so with its U.S. distributor, too, One Water Yacht Group.

The 94-foot (28.6-meter) megayacht fits nicely within the shipyard’s Yacht range, from 76 to 100 feet (23 to 30.5 meters). In fact, the model range has included a 95 Yacht for the past eight years. The 94 Yacht likely will be replacing her. Interestingly, Andrea Frabetti, Sunseeker’s CEO, says that the 94 is an evolution of the 100 Yacht, still in the lineup. To that extent, “the 94 Yacht exemplifies the concept of a luxurious home away from home on the water,” he explains. That’s why you’ll find, for example, a big foredeck terrace, with sunbeds and seating on two levels. You’ll further find Sunseeker’s X-TEND sunbed system. Nestled into the transom, the sunbeds spread out (extend) into different configurations. They can tilt up to face the swim platform, for example, or tilt the opposite way to face the aft deck.

Various flying-bridge configurations follow in the footsteps of the 100 Yacht, too. A wetbar, a grill, and an icemaker are all standard, as is a helm station. It’s up to customers to select loose furnishings for enjoying the view and whether to include a dining table. Down closer to the water, meanwhile, the tender garage can accommodate a Williams SportJet 395 and incorporate an optional launching system for a PWC. Regardless, the hydraulic swim platform makes it easier to launch and retrieve the toys—and can stow a tender weighing 2,094 pounds (950 kilograms).

Of course, a home away from home needs to reflect the owners’ personality and preferred way of living. The Sunseeker 94 Yacht offers plenty of leathers, cottons, and wools for furnishings, for instance. These, along with bed linens, wall coverings, and more, are in the Sunseeker Platinum interiors collection. The well-known superyacht design studio Design Unlimited has put together the collection and works alongside with customers to tailor rooms accordingly. This includes the optional full-beam stateroom aft below decks, which can replace the typical port and starboard staterooms. It’s an unexpected—but welcome—choice.

Whatever buyers ultimately pick, existing Sunseeker clients will know to expect spirited performance. According to the shipyard, the Sunseeker 94 Yacht should hit a top end of 26 knots with the standard MTU engines.

The Sunseeker 94 Yacht will be the first model built entirely under the builder’s new ownership. Two private-equity firms acquired Sunseeker in October and are keeping the headquarters in England.
