With a variety of LOAs to 161 feet, the Sunseeker Superyacht Range suits a broad array of owners’ and guests’ desires. As much as the new Sunseeker 120 Yacht picks up on some of the family design cues, it introduces asymmetry, along with bigger, more flexible relaxation space. What’s more, it brings an interior design aesthetic more commonly found on super-size superyachts.
If you’re a Sunseeker owner or enthusiast, you’ll immediately recognize the styling. It partly derives from the famed Predator series. But, it certainly also echoes other Superyacht Range offerings like the Sunseeker 100 Yacht. Similarly, both out on deck and inside, you’ll find familiar features. For instance, the 764-square-foot (71-square-meter) flying bridge suits dining, relaxing, and of course sunning. Inside, the main deck includes the galley, for practical reasons, plus the master suite amid upwards of 1,300 square feet (122 square meters) of usable space. All rooms and decks afford you the opportunity to arrange furnishings and otherwise tailor them as you wish, too.
Where the Sunseeker 120 Yacht begins staking her own territory, however, is in an asymmetrical configuration. Specifically, just one stairway, to port, leads from the hi-lo swim platform to the main aft deck. Also, only one main-deck side deck, to starboard, exists. The single aft-deck entry point permits a larger social space, arguably more inviting than most arrangements. You’ll find loose sun lounges, a healthy seating area, dining for 12, and a big bar with four barstools. Typically, cruisers just enjoy breakfast or lunch here, in favor of bigger conversation and relaxation zones elsewhere. Customers just may find themselves lingering longer aboard the Sunseeker 120 Yacht. As for the starboard-only side deck, owners and guests get a bit more usable space in the saloon and master suite. Crew—plus owners and guests—can still access the foredeck lounge directly from the aft deck, however, via a raised passageway.
Speaking of the foredeck lounge, here, too, Sunseeker introduces asymmetry, to create a better social space. Offset, angular settees can accompany a hot tub—something the 100 Yacht doesn’t include—and big sunpad. Or, skip the hot tub and simply enjoy the perfect perch from which to take in surrounding anchorages and approaching shores.
In typical Sunseeker fashion, approaching shores occurs with a good turn of speed, an anticipated 20 knots at top end. Once you’ve arrived, the five-person crew can offload PWCs and a tender (to nearly 20 feet/6 meters) from the toy garage. Enjoy a quick shower just inside the transom (via a gullwing door) before preparing for dinner in the main dining area inside.
Even with the Sunseeker 120 Yacht being semi-custom, the shipyard and Design Unlimited do have aesthetic recommendations. Firstly, elegant screens frame the transition from the saloon to the formal dining area, lending separation within the open-plan layout. Additionally, the dining-room sole is marble, with a pattern mimicked overhead.
Similarly, the master suite’s bath has marble bulkheads and counters, along with woods and metalic finishes, for an elevated sense of luxury. Unexpected, marble lines the walls in the sleeping area. All furnishings here, in the saloon, and throughout the yacht are loose pieces, for you to select.
Andrea Frabetti, Sunseeker’s CEO, says, “The iconic Sunseeker line is ever-present, but has been completely reinvented, projecting the Superyacht Range forward, fit for the future.”
