With a rich blue highlighting her 250 feet (76 meters) of length, the yacht N2H has emerged at Turquoise Yachts. Despite her large size and voluminous overall interior, she has intimate spaces for treasuring time with family and friends.
Part of the trick to make it work started with the exterior styling. Team For Design – Enrico Gobbi was tasked with shaping the lines. Naturally, the studio evaluated how to handle characteristics seemingly at odds with each other, like keeping four decks low profile. According to Enrico Gobbi, shapes for the sake of shape weren’t even a consideration. Rather, they needed purpose, like how the arch over the sundeck acts like a crown. Similarly, long, narrow windows in the upper superstructure trick the eye, making the yacht N2H seem even longer. Simultaneously, ergonomics needed to dictate the scope of spaces, as did visual appeal. “Even the dual-color blue and white exterior paint was conceived to create a streamlined profile,” Gobbi notes.

With a volume of 1,930 gross tons, the yacht N2H, which went by the name Project Arrow during construction, intends to impress inside. In fact, her headroom alone helps convey the sense of volume. It ranges from a healthy 8 feet to 8’8” (2.5 to 2.65 meters) on the main deck. Add in the floor-to-ceiling windows and an open-plan layout, and the sense of space is palpable. That said, though, the owner wanted areas to embrace family and friends with a warm intimacy. These needed to be spaces in their own right, too, not corners of far larger, flowing rooms. H2 Yacht Design devised a combination of areas naturally leading one to the next and dedicated areas specifically for just a few people.
For instance, the main saloon aboard the yacht N2H is capacious, yet features two distinct relaxation and entertainment areas. A suspended fireplace acts as a divider between the lounge area and the cinema space. Yet another good example is the master suite. Full beam forward on the same deck, it uses the dressing area to isolate the bedroom and office from each other. In a nice touch, each has its own fold-down balcony, accessible via large sliding doors. Finally, up on the sundeck, the yacht N2H welcomes guests for dining and lounging/TV watching fully forward. (A pop-up windscreen, made of glass, keeps it comfortable in breezy anchorages.) More lively conversations and activity take place aft, centered around a truly social lounge with a pool, sunpads, and settees.

All of this fits into “a true floating villa, with a modern Italian sensibility and a relaxed, residential feel,” according to Jonny Horsfield, H2 Yacht Design’s founder. Soft neutrals set the backdrop, allowing texture and accents to come from oak-ribbed walls and ceilings plus leather and bronze detailing. Additionally, to take advantage of being surrounded by nature, wide sliding doors and folding bulwarks bring the outside inside.
With a touch-and-go bow helipad doubling as another cinema, a spa-like beach club with a sauna and opening sides, and just four guest staterooms, the superyacht is every bit her owner’s vision. That vision extends to the propulsion system as well. In a first for Turquoise Yachts, she features hybrid propulsion. Furthermore, she marks a first for the yachting industry as a whole, being the first yacht to incorporate MTU’s integrated hybrid system. Specifically, it pairs twin diesel engines with a 1.5-megawatt battery bank. On battery power alone, the megayacht should be able to cruise at 10 knots. Of course, she can remain at anchor on batteries for overnights and other extended periods as well. For the benefit of the captain and crew—and all aboard—a SEA.AI Sentry system is in the wheelhouse. Briefly, this AI-driven system focuses on risk prevention like collision avoidance and security-related matters.

The launch of the yacht N2H—which will see delivery later this year—comes on the heels of the launch of another super-size project, the yacht Angelique. She went by the code name Project Vento during construction. “Launching two 80-meter platform yachts in three months is no small feat,” notes Burak Akgül, CEO of Turquoise Yachts.
