Late May saw some major movement at Turquoise Yachts. The yacht project Arrow, its first hybrid superyacht, moved out of her build shed. Turquoise’s own floating dock took her to its primary shipyard in Pendik, Turkey, for all completion stages.
Signed in 2022, this 250-footer (76-meter) seems pretty slim and sleek at first glance. Her lines are from a first-time collaborator with the shipyard, namely Enrico Gobbi – Team for Design. Cleverly, the Italian studio’s styling only makes her look slim. In fact, her 1,932 gross tons of volume mean she boats big spaces for the owners and guests.

Although Turquoise Yachts still cannot reveal information about the interior design or layout, it can confirm that H2 Yacht Design has been collaborating with the owners. Interestingly, the design studio and shipyard first began working together about two decades ago. With the yacht project Arrow, they are marking their 10th custom megayacht.
The fact that details about the décor are confidential isn’t really a problem, though, considering the design isn’t the biggest news. Instead, the 43-foot-wide (13.2-meter-wide) megayacht is hybrid-powered at her owners’ request. She should be able to achieve 10 knots while in battery mode alone, for instance. Of course, battery mode means the batteries are powering electric motors—silently, too. Specifically, the hybrid setup includes twin MTU 12V 4000 M65L diesels, a 1.5-megawatt-capacity battery bank, and permanent magnet electric motors.
Notably, the same week as the transfer of project Arrow, Turquoise Yachts launched project Toro. She’ll be its largest delivery, at 259 feet (79 meters) upon delivery in a few months. But, she won’t be its biggest megayacht for too long, since Turquoise has a 285-footer (87-meter) in build.
