Realistic renderings help put a yacht’s eventual looks into perspective. But there’s nothing quite like seeing the yacht itself come together. And, there’s nothing quite like seeing an under-construction yacht out of the water, to get a sense of the scale. A video shot by Tankoa Yachts for the first Tankoa S501 lets you do all of this.
For the past few months, we’ve been keeping you updated on the construction progress of this 164-footer (50-meter). Set for delivery next April, the megayacht bears design outside and inside by Francesco Paszkowski Design. Margherita Casprini also is contributing to the interior.
In July, Tankoa completed the fairing prep work for the all-aluminum superstructure and hull. It also finished installing wiring. But before any of this, or any other installations like insulation could occur, the S501 needed to arrive in her finishing hall.
The time-lapse video here shows that arrival, via barge, and the subsequent coordination of equipment needed to roll her off and into the shed. While you watch, keep in mind not just her LOA, but also that the S501 is nearly 31 feet (9.4 meters) in beam.
