Further proof that yacht owners who prioritize long-term and far-flung cruising are active buyers, Cantiere delle Marche recently formalized a deal for yet another megayacht in its expedition series, a Darwin Class 86.
This new Darwin Class 86 will bear the same styling as other megayachts in the lineup, drawn by Hydrotec, plus feature a steel hull, again like her sisters. The hull will be painted gunmetal gray, too. A few changes are being made to the structure, however, such as larger ports below decks and a sliding sunroof within the fixed hardtop. The owner further requested a security system that has sensors to monitor the megayacht’s perimeter and an automatic dehumidifier for the interior air-handling system.
Of course, since Cantiere delle Marche welcomes additional customization inside the Darwin Class megayacht series, this owner is putting his imprint throughout each room, too. The skylounge sounds much like the party room, given that it will be arranged to accommodate larger groups than normal and be outfitted with high-end audio and video components. While there aren’t yet any specifics available on how staterooms are being arranged, they as well as areas like the saloon will feature subdued, neutral tones like beige and gray. Another nice touch: The owner’s contemporary art collection will be featured throughout the interior. It’s thanks to the owner’s collaboration with designer Pierluigi Floris.
