After delivering 14 Delfino 93s, Benetti decided it was time for a slight change, a more modern-looking, and appealing, megayacht model called the Delfino 95. Hull number one just hit the water on the last day of November, christened Christella II.
With a 95-foot (28.95-meter) LOA and 23-foot (7-meter) beam, the Delfino 95 is not dramatically different than her predecessor. This allows owner-operators to still feel able to take the helm, while simultaneously appealing to those who do want full-time crew (five). Accommodations-wise, the Delfino 95 is actually the same as the 93, with a main-deck master stateroom and four guest cabins below decks. The differences come in pushing out interior spaces as much as possible, for a more voluminous feel. Furthermore, they come in enhancing that feel via the two significant, single-pane ports spanning the saloon’s length.
In terms of space, consider the accommodations. Christella II has two VIPs that can convert to one large suite via sliding doors. Guests who want rooms only to themselves get a double and a twin from which to enjoy. As for the master, naturally, it occupies essentially the full beam, plus nearly 11 feet fore to aft. The owner of Christella II also naturally requested tailored touches. He wanted a separate wardrobe, plus a big shower.
Additionally enhancing space, the Delfino 95 has a sundeck, making her a trideck. The cozy area contains a helm station and accompanying guest settee. The primary helm is one deck below, with a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces aft. Just behind the helm, for example, Christella II has a dining area, with an opening roof. Fully out in the open is a sunning spot. Benetti claims this aft section is larger than you’d expect to find.
For the interior, the owner chose Canaletto walnut wood alternating with printed leather on walls. Interestingly, he wanted simple wood panels, versus the natural patterns referred to as flames. This way, they’d fit with his overall contemporary vision. That vision additionally features parquet soles in common areas. Rounding out the décor, Christella II has marble tiling placed with alternating veins. Benetti’s in-house design department and the UK-based company Aqualuce worked with the owner to execute all of this.
Because the Delfino 95 is a displacement design, Benetti expects Christella II to top out at 13½ knots under 1,000-hp MANs. For long-range cruising, Christella II will likely operate at 10 knots. At that speed, she should see a range of 1,950 nautical miles. In addition, when the owner and guests want to explore shallow shores, they’ll have a 14-foot (4.4-meter) tender at their disposal.
