There’s an old saying that one of the happiest days in a yacht owner’s life is the day he or she takes delivery. The owner of Christella II, therefore, was certainly quite happy during the recent formal hand-over ceremony at Benetti.
Christened in November, Christella II is the first launch and delivery in the Delfino 95 series. The model replaces the long-popular Delfino 93. (Benetti delivered more than a dozen Delfino 93s, in fact.) She keeps a family feel while introducing new features. Specifically, the trends of incorporating more, larger glass along the decks and making better use of volume define her.
A customer from the Czech Republic is the owner of Christella II. He brought in the Czech-based interior-design firm Creativa Home Design. It worked alongside Benetti’s own interiors department. The 95-foot (28.95-meter) megayacht, with a 23-foot (7-meter) beam, shows off warm Canaletto walnut paneling, alternating with printed leather. Wood characterize the soles in the saloon and other common areas. Meanwhile, soft carpeting sits underfoot in staterooms. Lighting plays a significant role aboard Christella II as well. The specialists from UK-based Aqualuce custom-designed various moods and settings.
Being a semi-custom megayacht, the Delfino 95 gave the owner the freedom to arrange things as he wishes. He definitely took advantage in the master suite. Sitting on the main deck, it has a separate wardrobe, plus a larger shower. Besides spanning Christella II’s beam, the master measures 10’5” (3.2 meters) long. As for guests, Very Important People have two of four staterooms below decks. Those two staterooms can convert to one large suite, too.
Come mealtime, guests can gather around the dining table on the upper deck. While it’s inside, it does have a sliding roof, along with mood lighting for added effect. Pre- or post-dinner, Christella II invites everyone to relax outside. As the photo above shows, sunpads and settees dominate the forward areas of the yacht. More lounging and sunning spaces sit aft on the upper deck. And, while quite cozy, the sundeck is for lounging, too.
While some buyers of the Delfino 95 may be owner-operators, Christella II has five crewmembers. The megayacht is solely for private use as well. Expect her to top out at 14½ knots under MAN power.
