If you’re an explorer at heart, surely you’ve noticed the support-yacht designs aimed at buyers like you. Surely you’ve also noticed many of them are quite large, with significant gross tonnage. Rosetti Superyachts has, too, which is why it now offers the Rosetti 48M Supply Vessel. At 157 feet, she suits more potential owners as a support yacht, cruising in tandem with a traditional yacht.
Interestingly, last November, Rosetti introduced a pretty significant-size support yacht itself, the Rosetti 85M expedition supply vessel. Fulvio Dodich, chairman of the shipyard, says the new design results from observing the marketplace. Therefore, the Rosetti 48M Supply Vessel remains beneath the 500-gross-ton threshold.
She does, though, share the same designer as the bigger project, as well as benefits. Tommaso Spadolini of Design Studio Spadolini gave her a nearly 59-foot-long (18-foot-long) expanse of deck aft. Good-size tenders can stow here, or a helicopter can land to pick up or drop off guests. For warm-weather cruising, Rosetti Superyachts and Spadolini suggest an infinity pool. Once you clear the deck, you get quite a significant sunning and lounging area, too. Note further that, for polar explorations, the Rosetti 48M Supply Vessel can be ice-classed.
A 16-knot anticipated top speed and transatlantic range mean you’ll get where you want to go comfortably. Speaking of comfort, interior design and arrangement is completely open to your input. Place your suite on the main deck, for instance, or up another deck, adjoining a private alfresco area aft. Four guest staterooms can go below decks. Due to the adventurous travel expectations, the Rosetti 48M Supply Vessel situates the engineer’s cabin next to the engine room. Similarly, and in traditional fashion, the captain goes next to the wheelhouse.
The support yacht isn’t Rosetti’s only new design. It also now has a 297-foot (85-meter) luxury yacht (above). While once again Spadolini handled design, she still surprises. This high-volume (2,700-gross-ton) cruiser for a party of 12 shares engineering with the above-mentioned 85M expedition supply vessel. She also has diesel-electric propulsion with Azipull thrusters to improve maneuverability and reduce sound and vibration. Top speed should be a swift 20 knots, with a range of 5,500 miles at 15 knots.
The interior is customizable, of course, though Rosetti recommends placing all five guest staterooms on the main deck. They include a full-beam VIP. Your suite, meanwhile, goes on the upper deck, with a private pool and access to the helipad (touch and go). Outside of the beach club, with a spa and gym, the lower deck is reserved for the crew, galley, and abundant stowage. Even the tank deck has additional dry and cold stowage, plus workspace.
