If you like going fast, you’ll get with the Extra 86 Fast. She pledges a thrill ride upwards of 30 knots at maximum speed. Simultaneously, she has extra-beamy spaces, fitting for a brand named Extra Yachts. We’re giving you the first look inside before she makes her global debut at this month’s Cannes Yachting Festival.
Launched in June, the Extra 86 Fast is part of a lineup that starts with a 76 and ends (so far, at least) with a 130. Despite her 85-foot (26-meter) LOA, she feels more like a 100-footer, due to a 21’6” (6.6-meter) beam. In addition, Extra Yachts likens the feeling inside to that of a crystal dome, due to the large, seamless ports.
It’s an open-plan layout inside, too. Though, it’s not what you might expect. The galley, for example, is aft. It runs port to starboard along a large smoked-glass port that additionally raises and lowers automatically. This is perfect for serving meals at the adjacent alfresco dining lounge. It’s also perfect for a more comfortable, casual atmosphere all day onboard.
Yet another advantage, the layout lets the saloon and a small helm occupy the rest of the main deck inside. Since the Extra 86 Fast is a semi-custom megayacht, you can choose the furnishings and finishes to suit your style.
The piece de resistance aboard the Extra 86 Fast, though, is the outdoor space. The aft deck cascades down over three levels to the water. It encompasses 538 square feet (50 square meters) in total as well. Even though other builders in this size range offer beach clubs, you essentially have a permanent, and bigger, beach club with this configuration.
But, the aft deck isn’t the only outdoor lounging space. Forward, the Extra 86 Fast features a large sunpad and settee. Furthermore, the yacht has a flying bridge. Therefore, maximum sunning can take place up here, as can dining. Or, simply enjoy the ride from the C-shape settee.
