Divers and non-divers alike can explore the wonders of the undersea world, as deep as 3,000 feet (1,000 meters), through an unusual charter program. The purpose-built exploration and dive vessel U Boat Navigator has day-, week-, and even month-long charters via Fraser Yachts for the fittingly nicknamed Deep Blue Experience.
The 79-footer (24-meter) saw launch in 2008 for avid history buffs and diving enthusiasts. In fact, to date she has contributed to the discovery of hundreds of historic wrecks in the Med. Furthermore, she has participated in diving documentaries and submarine journeys. Some of these journeys have involved her wet diving bell, capable of descending 328 feet (100 meters). It therefore allows divers to reach wreck sites that are otherwise too far beneath the surface. Furthermore, U Boat Navigator has a decompression chamber for up to four people.
For the Deep Blue Experience charters, U Boat Navigator is, naturally, offering her scuba gear and services. However, she’s also offering her two Triton submarines. One is a custom Triton 3300/3, which can descend 3,000 feet. The other is a custom Triton 3300/1, a one-person sub suited for tandem dives. Additionally, it’s ideal for filming you and your family in the other craft, and the sea life around you. Since U Boat Navigator has been such a contributor to history, she has filmmaking capabilities. You can then relive your diving experience back onboard U Boat Navigator, since she has a projector and screen in the saloon.
Even if only some of your party dives, a charter provides further enjoyment. For instance, you can take out a Sea-Doo Spark PWC, or enjoy the boat’s RIB. Alfresco lunches and dinners are ideal on the upper deck, which further has a BBQ. Interior lounges, two twin staterooms, and a double master stateroom await, too.
Charters are year-round in the Med.
