In time for the busy winter season, Palm Beach County in Florida will see the reopening of a longstanding marina. The former PGA Marina property is transforming into Port 32 Palm Beach Gardens, with previously lacking much-needed amenities.
In the northern part of Palm Beach Gardens, the marina recently marked an important milestone. A topping-out ceremony on June 4 commemorated the last structural beam going into the new buildings on site, with multiple contractors and development executives signing it (above). Specifically, three buildings are under construction, two of which will accommodate dry stowage, office space, and boat-sales showrooms. The third building will be home to a ship’s store and a fuel dock. The topping out came about 15 months after demolition of the 50-year-old PGA Marina’s single weather-worn building.

Once work completes, Port 32 Palm Beach Gardens will have 471 slips, 20 of which are in the water. The wet slips will accommodate yachts and modest-size megayachts to 112 feet (34 meters). The remaining 451 slips will be dry stowage, a particularly popular request from regional residents and visitors with tenders and small powerboats.
Situated along PGA Boulevard, the marina is next to a restaurant and has direct access to the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. Furthermore, owners and crew can expect concierge-style services. Provisioning, on-site repair and maintenance, plus haul-out and launch for the stowed boats are among the benefits, too. According to Port 32, which owns multiple marinas in the southern United States, including Port 32 Fort Lauderdale, the property will have the largest marina forklifts in the country. Their lifting capacity is 75,000 pounds.

Especially notable, Port 32 Palm Beach Gardens is rated for 180-mph winds, which are Category 5 conditions. This, the company says, makes it the only marina in Palm Beach County meeting this major category.
Port 32 is currently taking slip-lease bookings.
