Hull number nine in Damen Yachting’s YS 5009 series, a.k.a. the 55-meter Yacht Support series, has sunny shores in her sights. She has transatlantic crossings and other transoceanic crossings in her sights, too, if you wish. Essentially, Time Off is ready to venture to whatever destination you want to visit on your waterborne wish list.
Launched in April, the 182-footer (55.5-meter) is an all-around Damen Yachting design. This therefore means styling, naval architecture, and interior design are all from the in-house craftspeople. Since a major benefit of the Yacht Support design is accommodating extra guests, the general arrangement features staterooms for seven friends and family. Additionally, four staff (nannies, for example, or bodyguards) get cabins, as do 11 crewmembers and a captain.
Since Time Off started and completed on spec, Damen Yachting will tailor the decor additionally to your wishes. Regardless, the big, 30-foot (9.25-meter) beam makes for some enviable areas, especially when it comes to watertoys. A primary one, in fact, is the 538-square-foot (50-square-meter) space inside the transom. Some Yacht Support owners use it as a dive center, while others use it as one big watertoy garage. If you want to travel the world, you might consider making it an onboard lab or study center for your kids—or even the kid in you.
For time off Time Off, a multi-purpose, main-deck hangar can hold big tenders, a personal sub, or even quads and other vehicles. Damen Yachting clients use the hangar for long-term stowage, too, especially if they have extensive cruising plans. Interestingly, some have even used the hangar to hold relief supplies when the yachts have assisted non-profits in disaster areas.
Whatever your plans, the 499-gross-ton support yacht should augment your time on the water. “Time Off is all about providing clients flexibility,” says Wouter Kleijpoel, the Yacht Support design manager. “A blend of adventure and superyacht-support functions that they can customize to work for them.”
