The American yachting market remains the largest potential customer base for superyacht builders and designers. With that in mind, the first Rossinavi U.S. office is officially open for business in Fort Lauderdale.
Having attracted a number of American customers in recent years, the yard naturally has been seeking to establish a stateside physical presence. The Rossinavi U.S. office, headed by Kevin O’Conor and in The Quay on 17th Street, therefore will assist current and future clients with sales, plus support owners with after-sales service. Additionally, the location will have a room leveraging immersive technology to better educate visitors about its environmental-minded navigation technology, BluE.
Rossinavi unveiled BluE just last year. Its roots are in an interactive art installation from Milan Design Week, inviting people to learn about phytoplankton. Guests could go underwater, virtually, to experience phytoplankton’s ability to turn sunlight into energy via photosynthesis. Phytoplankton are further quite sensitive to climate change. All of this inspired Rossinavi to create BluE as “clean” technology.
The first installation of BluE is going aboard the Rossinavi Sea Cat, the shipyard’s first multihull, too. This superyacht employs solar panels and promises transatlantic crossings nearly entirely on electric propulsion. The second BluE installation, meanwhile, is set for a more traditional monohull, the Infinity 42 Blue yacht proposal. She, too, has solar panels and a high-capacity battery bank. Both the Sea Cat and Infinity 42 Blue come from the drawing boards of Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design as well.
Especially where BluE is concerned, “Green is a vision, an education that has inspired us to research and develop sustainable technologies for the future of navigation,” says Federico Rossi, COO of the family-run shipyard. “We are proud to bring our vision to the U.S.,” he adds, further saying that “sustainability and high performance are the keywords” for its new generation of yachts.
In related news, this year should see three superyacht launches, including one for American clients. Specifically, that project is Alchemy (top). She has styling and naval architecture by Philippe Briand and interiors by Enrico Gobbi – Team for Design. LOA is 216 feet (66 meters). Her launch is set for March.
