Back in February I told you about the first superyacht-only show being held in 2009 in the Gulf region, specifically in Abu Dhabi. Targeting buyers shopping for $15-million-plus megayachts, the show has already attracted the likes of Burger Boat Company, Trinity Yachts, Westport Shipyard, Palmer Johnson, Northrop & Johnson, and other leaders in the megayacht industry as exhibitors.
That’s one of the reasons why the show organizers have just moved up the dates, to March 12 to 14. (It was originally slated for March 24 to 27.) There are also new details about the show. Being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), the Abu Dhabi Yacht Show will occupy two halls (air-conditioned, of course), which overlook the in-water megayacht exhibits. A bridge will link the two spots, and a regular shuttle service will ensure clients can reach the exhibitors of their choice.
Since waterfront development in the Gulf region is booming–witness the scene above, courtesy of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority–there are several luxurious hotels to choose from for your stay. But because Abu Dhabi and her sister city, Dubai, are becoming increasingly popular with business travelers and tourists alike, rooms book fast.
