The inaugural steel-hulled megayacht from Sirena Marine is about two months from making her international debut. Having just sold, this first Sirena Superyachts 42M surely also will see a traditional christening occur with her owners present.
An in-house sale, the yacht is the biggest in Sirena’s history. This makes the achievement more significant, according to Ali Onger, the chief commercial officer. “It is confirmation that our approach to building modern, highly capable superyachts resonates with experienced owners,” he says. Additionally, the sale of the 433-gross-ton yacht “reflects the strength of the relationships we build with our clients,” which could indicate a client with a smaller Sirena yacht is the new owner.

Regardless, Sirena expanded into the megayacht market, confident it could introduce different designs and approaches. Construction began on spec in 2024 for the Sirena Superyachts 42M, one of three Sirena Superyachts models. (The other two are the Sirena 35M and the Sirena 50M, neither under construction just yet.) Each features a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, with styling by Luca Vallebona. While the shipyard requested a sporty, open profile, Vallebona personally wanted to add architecturally striking elements. To that end, a patio-like alfresco area on the main deck (above) is exclusively for the owners to use. A stairway further lets the owners access the upper deck without having to re-enter their suite and walk through the interior.
While no specifics are available on the interior décor, the shipyard approached Hot Lab to design the Sirena Superyachts 42M. Overall, the designers have prioritized natural materials and an abundance of curves for a welcoming look and feel.

Naval architecture, meanwhile, is by Van Oossanen Naval Architects. It is employing its Fast Displacement Hull Form as well as the Hull Vane foil for additional efficiency. Full particulars on the propulsion system and anticipated performance aren’t yet available.
Those interested in seeing the final results and speaking with Sirena about their own project can get aboard at the Monaco Yacht Show.
