If I could replicate the sound of a champagne cork popping, you’d hear it right now. Welcome to the long-awaited, somewhat-delayed redesign of Megayacht News. Quite a change, huh?
Which is exactly why I’m thrilled with it. And I hope you will be, too, especially as you begin checking out the new features. Note the navigation bar at the top of the page: Instead of using labels (keywords) to find what you’re looking for, you can use the Search function or click one of the categories labeled People, Yachts, Builders, or Events. Say you’re looking for the recent story I did about Casino Royale launching at Christensen. You can search for “Casino Royale,” or you can click the Yachts nav button and scroll through the entries until you find the post.
I’d like to also draw your attention to two other new features: the Most Popular listing at the top right of the page, and the e-newsletter sign-up. Depending on what stories get the most traffic, you’ll see different headlines appearing under Most Popular, linking back to the full article. As for the e-newsletter, it will launch early this fall, on a monthly basis, containing extra news and information.
Of course, this redesign contains some of the same things that made Megayacht News a favorite. There’s still the Photo of the Month (which will soon host a photo contest, so stay tuned), and there’s my Twitter feed featuring quick news updates.
The goal is to make your experience staying atop of developments in the megayacht market better and easier. Let me know what you think. You can post comments as usual, but better, take the poll at the top of the page.
