Burrasca, Rosehearty, Selene, Salute, Panthalassa, and four other 56-meter (184-foot) Perini Navi deliveries have a new sister: Fidelis.
The 10th member of the Italian yard’s 56-meter series emerged from her build shed late last week. She launched under the watchful eyes of her owners and a select group of guests. The all-aluminum, ketch-rigged megayacht was designed by the yard’s in-house team along with Ron Holland. Once she’s fully outfitted, she’ll bear a 1,500-square-meter (about 16,146-square-foot) sail plan, deployed via in-boom furling systems. (Twin Caterpillar C32s will give her a 15.5-knot top end when she really needs to get somewhere a bit quicker. Reduce speed by 3 knots, and she should see a range of 3,500 nautical miles.) The owners and guests can watch the captain and crew operate the yacht on the flying bridge, thanks to lounging and sunning areas aft. This is a departure in design from the other yachts in the Perini Navi 56-meter series. Yet another departure up here: a dining area.
Of course, not everything about Fidelis is dramatically different. The owners and guests have six staterooms, all below decks, from which to choose. Two of the guest staterooms also have Pullman berths and convertible sofas. For relaxation, there are fore and aft cockpits, each with settees and dining tables. The forward cockpit further features an awning if guests have had enough of the sun for the day. It’s a great spot for nighttime fun, too, given special lighting.
Perini Navi’s in-house design department worked with the owners to fashion a contemporary-looking interior for Fidelis. Wenge, maple, and walnut woods dominate, complemented by marble, leather, parchment, and even steel. The latter comes into play in the staircase connecting all decks. Clad also in wenge, the staircase is just forward of the saloon. It, along with port and starboard sliding glass doors, separate the saloon from the dining room.
