We’ve heard of ambitious itineraries, but the one that the famed charter megayacht Sherakhan is going to undertake starting this autumn is even more so: 38,000 nautical miles in 14 months. It’s not just a global cruise during which you can charter Sherakhan in a variety of unusual destinations, but also one where you can book on a per-cabin basis for ocean crossings, the latter being quite unusual.
Sherakhan, part of the central charter fleet of YCO, has been among the largest charter megayachts available since her conversion in 2005 (she was built in 1965 as the commercial ship Princess Margaret). She’s 228’5” (69.65 meters) LOA and accommodates 26 guests, with a crew of 19. As luxurious as she is—check out the dining room pictured below, as viewed from the top of the atrium that makes it look and feel all the more voluminous—Sherakhan also caters to the small set. In fact, her crew arranges special treasure hunts, cooking sessions, movie nights, and more for kids.
As for the megayacht’s world cruise, it will begin this November in the Caribbean, following Sherakhan’s charter season in the Med–which still has some availability. Once she starts the world journey, notable upcoming destinations include Costa Rica, Antarctica, Madagascar, Thailand, Bali, and Fiji.
