Having built several catamarans previously, and given their growing popularity, JFA Yachts is testing the marketplace with a new design. This 115-footer (35-meter) is from the drawing boards of an unexpected partner, Peugeot Design Lab. The industrial-design studio has been responsible for trams, electric scooters, hybrid bicycles, and various other products, even extending to pepper grinders.
With a beam of nearly 48 feet (14.5 meters), the JFA Yachts 115 power catamaran would provide buyers with abundant areas to take in the cruising experience. Besides the expansive alfresco areas, perhaps the best place from where to enjoy these would be the “sky dome.” It’s a twist on a skylounge. Take a look at the tinted-glass structure on the upper deck, and you can understand the creative name. Large panes of glass line the sides and aft, plus flow overhead.
Neither JFA Yachts nor Peugeot Design Lab have released a general arrangement. However, given the LOA, surely eight people in the owners’ party could be accommodated. Guest staterooms would likely be split between the two hulls. The master suite could be forward on the main deck. Regardless, JFA Yachts and Peugeot Design Lab plan a 21-foot (6.5-meter) tender to be custom designed for the yacht, stowing in a garage between the hulls.
