The multihull market continues to grow, and with that, Echo Yachts is seeing increasing interest in multihull megayachts. The SP30 power cat targets buyers stepping up into larger-LOA projects, additionally letting them tailor all deck spaces as they wish.
With an LOA of 101’7” (31 meters), the SP30 springs from collaboration with Misha Merzliakov Yacht Design (MMYD). The two companies have joined forces previously, name for 27-meter motoryachts and shadow vessels. Styling-wise, note especially the reverse bow, which lends more waterline length and therefore assists performance. Also note that the swim platform doubles as the toy platform. It lowers hydraulically for easier launch and retrieval of the guest tender, a dive boat, PWCs, and/or other sporty craft.
Of course, catamaran buyers appreciate the expansive space that the design offers. Echo Yachts’ SP30 power cat is no different. She has an overall beam of 43’6” (13.3 meters). Typically, to enjoy that type of airiness, you’d need to consider megayachts in the 197-foot (60-meter) and up range. Even on the main deck, you benefit from 32’8” (10 meters) of elbowroom. All the while, volume remains beneath the 500-gross-ton threshold, simplifying regulations and manning requirements.
While Echo Yachts and MMYD welcome you to arrange the decks as you wish, surely you’ll want your stateroom forward on the main deck. That leaves the twin hulls available for four or even five staterooms for your friends and family. One thing that the build and design team has already determined: incorporating twin engine rooms, especially for redundancy.
For performance, anticipate wind-in-your-hair cruising. Echo Yachts says the SP30 power can should be capable of a 20-knot maximum speed and a 15-knot cruising speed. The all-aluminum megayacht further has open on-deck and interior areas where you can thrill to the ride. Lastly, because the tunnel between the two hulls is high, that provides more air and therefore more of a cushion when underway.
