Horizon clients on the U.S. West Coast are anxiously anticipating the arrival of a Horizon V80. The megayacht, an inventory model, moved out of her build shed earlier this month. She will soon be put on a transport ship, for arrival in California in April.
This V80 is hull number two in the series. Horizon delivered the first, christened The One, last summer. There’s quite a difference between the interior of that yacht and the interior of this V80. The California inventory model has a galley forward on the main deck, as seen in the illustration above. The dining area runs fore to aft opposite it. By contrast, The One’s owner has a mahjong area situated here. Furthermore, The One has a light-tone interior. The latest V80 is predominantly adorned with rich walnut, finished to a high gloss. Ivory and beige tones in fabrics and stonework offset it. The owners’ party gets four staterooms below decks, whereas The One has just three (and no crew’s quarters).
Another nice feature of the new Horizon V80: a day head on the aft deck. It’s in proximity to the traditional alfresco dining area. Cocktails and more can be enjoyed on the upper deck, at a custom-designed bar. Guests can also venture forward on the main deck to an additional seating area at the bow. A retractable bimini comes in handy here.
Horizon expects the V80 to cruise at close to 21 knots and top out just over 24 knots, with twin MANs.
While interested California clients await this yacht, you can see a handful of new Horizon megayachts at the upcoming Palm Beach International Boat Show in Florida. Debbie Lou, a P105 trideck motoryacht owned by repeat customers, will be showcased. She’ll join the latest P110 (also a trideck) and E84 (a sportier design) at the docks.
In other related news, a repeat buyer from the States inked a deal for a new E88. The open-bridge design will feature four staterooms and a hi-lo swim platform. Delivery is expected this fall, which will mark the fifth E88 in American hands since May of last year.
