If you ever wanted to be at the helm of a sub, here’s your chance. U-Boat Worx is hosting a handful of classes in August that, upon completion, will grant you one of a handful of operational licenses.
The classes are being held off Malta in cooperation with Waterproof Expeditions. The latter company organizes nature-focused trips on land and beneath the water’s surface, including ones tailored to yacht owners and guests. In fact, a 98-foot (30-meter) megayacht will be on hand for the classes, to take you to the various dive sites, for example. U-Boat Worx is supplying its C-Explorer 3 (above) as the training sub.
So what can you learn? If you’re a beginner, U-Boat Worx has a two-day intro class to review basic operations. You’ll receive information on important aspects like ballast and life support. If you want to take the controls of the sub, sign up for the four-day Supervised Pilot License or six-day Private Pilot License. Emergency procedures are among the skills taught by a U-Boat Worx instructor in the latter. The most in-depth course, intended for those who want to be professional sub pilots, is the 10-day Chief Pilot License. This would be well-suited to a crewmember who’ll operate your watercraft. He or she will learn skills allowing dives to 984 feet (300 meters).
Pricing varies according to the complexity of the class chosen. Rates start at €4,175 (about $4,584) per person.

To Whom it may concern,, My name is Destino Rivera, CEO of Atlantean Technologies based In New York USA. I have designed a new underwater air curtain that we will be installing on the ocean floor. Question: Do you have any submarines that are 2 or 3 person that has Hydraulics that can help us install anchors like a jack hammer. We will use Manta Ray anchors and rock anchors. We expect to start producing in the next year. We could use as many as 4 systems if they can be fitted to install anchors. The depths are from 120 feet to 5,000 feet. Please get back to us.
