The elaborate stairwell just visible behind (and through) the glass elevator is considered the heart of Ester III, but not due to physical location. Delivered by Lürssen last year, Ester III was commissioned by an owner with an affinity for French classical design who wanted the voluminous interior of the 216’5” (66.9-meter) megayacht to feel warm, friendly, and intimate for his family. To that end, Reymond Langton Design worked with artisans well-versed in marquetry, hand-carved leather, metal, and more. All of those materials come together in Ester III’s stairway, which connects the lower deck to the bridge deck. A skylight lets the design elements really come alive in daytime, too, as do floor-to-ceiling windows in the bridge-deck lobby.
This 20-photo gallery takes you from the fireplace-equipped main saloon to the rococo staterooms (especially the master suite) and the aft-deck infinity pool aboard Ester III. Note how each of the five guest staterooms has its own distinct decor, with fabrics rising up overhead. As for her profile, Ester III is every inch an Espen Øino design. It’s deliberate: The owner reportedly told him, “just do it as if the yacht was for you, Espen.”
Ester III will make her boat-show debut at the Monaco Yacht Show this September. We’ll have a Megayacht News Onboard feature shortly thereafter.
