UPDATE, JULY 25, 2016: The owner of Giaola-Lu is enjoying his maiden voyage aboard with his family. In fact, three generations of his family have joined him for the trip. Bilgin Yachts handed the megayacht over on July 22.

Last week saw the first launch of 2016 for Bilgin Yachts, the Bilgin 155 project christened Giaola-Lu.
The megayacht has been two years in the making. Her owner, from Mexico, is a few short weeks from taking delivery, too. Bilgin Shipyard says the 153’5” (46.8-meter) yacht is intended for European and Caribbean cruising, with a few Atlantic destinations mixed in. Giaola-Lu should see a 16-knot top speed under 1,450-hp Caterpillar power.
H2 Yacht Design worked with the owner of Giaola-Lu to change some of the aspects of the original interior design. The Bilgin 155 began construction on spec. Information isn’t available on the decor for the accommodations for 12. We do know that there are two master suites, however. Surely one (if not both) makes the most of the 30’2” (9.2-meter) beam. The steel-hulled Giaola-Lu also has a tender garage that does double duty as a beach club. This, in addition to a dedicated beach club aboard.
Bilgin Yachts has a handful of other projects under construction, set for delivery within the next two years.
