She may not be the world’s largest megayacht (by length), but she’s undeniably among the most-watched. Dilbar, delivered just a few weeks ago (by Lürssen), delighted onlookers as she pulled into Gibraltar for a fuel stop earlier this month. The video here, shot by a person on the dock, gives you long looks at all 512 feet (156 meters) of her.
The video shows Dilbar slowly and steadily approaching the dock, then tying up side-to. It’s a bit shaky at times, but it’s worth watching through to the end. As much as photos of Dilbar that we’ve published, and found elsewhere, are terrific, nothing beats “live” imagery.
And, nothing beats imagery where people are present. If you look closely throughout the video, you can see crewmembers stationed along Dilbar’s main deck. Given her size, they’re practically ant-like in comparison.
Better yet, toward the 4:20 mark, you’ll see several crew on the swim platform of Dilbar, handling a fender. It’s bigger than they are. (On a side note, we’re delighted to see those same crewmembers all wearing inflatable live vests. Safety first.)
In the later scenes, you’ll get to appreciate the aft styling and design of Dilbar. There’s a significant-size glass section in her transom, for example. Perhaps it’s part of an observation room, or a lounge. You’ll also get to appreciate her dimensions all the more. Dilbar bears a beam of 78’7” (24 meters).
The megayacht has since made her way to the Med for the summer season.
