A few motoryachts currently charter in Australia. Another one is heading there in October, offering something new. She is the first new-build megayacht created specifically for the Australian charter market. She’s Ghost II, a 122-footer (37.3-meter) with a crew who know the local waters quite well.
Ghost II is part of the central charter agency of Ocean Alliance, which is Australia-based itself, too. As for Ghost II, to say that the captain and crew know Australian waters is an understatement. Her captain, for example, is a native. He has cruised along the coast from Sydney to the Great Barrier Reef for much of his life, in fact. And, in true charter fashion, he can take guests to special spots around Sydney Harbor.
A party of 10 to 12 can stay aboard Ghost II for these charters. Alternately, she can host harbor parties and dockside bashes alike for up to 120 people. Surely, most people will want to head up to the flying bridge, for the best views. In either scenario, the festivities will revolve around local cuisine. The megayacht’s chef, like the captain, is a native Aussie. If you like to fish, picture your catch of the day on your dinner plate. The black-hulled Ghost II totes fishing gear, which you can use from the Castoldi tender.
You can also use other watertoys, including a PWC, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, wakeboards, water skis, and SeaBobs, whether you cruise the Whitsundays or elsewhere.
If you like to charter certain builder brands, Ghost II is a Majesty 122, from Gulf Craft. Currently completing sea trials, the megayacht should see a leisurely 10-knot cruising speed. For a sneak peek at her interior, check out this virtual tour.
The weekly charter rate for Ghost II starts at $125,000 per week. Hourly charter rates, plus single overnight rates, vary, each listed on Ocean Alliance’s website.
