Picture a perfect night at anchor with just stars as light. Even sure-footed guests can stumble on deck. In a situation where your night vision isn’t the best, you can stumble trying to walk along the passerelle as well. Esthec believes it has the solution in Solar Glow, decking material that uses solar power to light up come nightfall.
Esthec is known for its recyclable composite decks that mimic teak quite faithfully. It also custom-designs yacht logos and other patterns for clients. Either way, the material is slip-resistant in both dry and wet situations. Solar Glow retains those qualities, too. In fact, Esthec says, it looks the same as the company’s standard composite decks until it starts to shine light.
Esthec also says that you can request special patterns or designs for Solar Glow installations. This would be especially fun for highlighting a dance floor on deck, or your yacht’s name there. Also from an aesthetic standard, Esthec offers multiple colors and tones for the decking material and caulking.
Since Solar Glow involves just one more step in the manufacturing process compared to Esthec’s traditional decking, its cleaning method is similar. Simple washing, versus scrubbing, takes care of things. Algae can’t grow on it the way it can on wood because it doesn’t absorb water.
