The days of bouncing around on a RIB while heading to shore from a superyacht are long gone. But, still, some limo tenders don’t have big guest capacities. Just as problematic, the ones that do sometimes are too big to fit inside garages. Xtenders believes it’s solved these issues, together with the naval-architecture team from Vripack. The solution comes in the form of the Xtenders 8m limousine tender range. Available in three styles, each 26-footer (8-meter) has abundant room for 10 guests and two crew. And, each is less than the height of a grown man.
In fact, the Xtenders 8m limousine tenders are just 5’9” (1.8 meters) to the top of their roofs. Due to Vripack’s hull design and 260-hp engines, your crew can whisk you to shore as quickly as 40 knots. Carbon fiber construction helps save weight, further aiding the speed. It also means your crew can use a lower-capacity lifting crane compared to other fiberglass tenders.
While each of the tenders has a central cabin, the differences come in where the helm sits. For example, the Limousine Venice version has a forward helm. However, you also get two seats fully aft in the open air, for those who love the wind in their hair. Then there’s the Limousine Somnium (pictured). A more traditional limo tender, it puts the helm station aft. This allows for a bit more room inside the tender cabin, too. Finally, the Limousine Global arrangement also has an aft helm, but a forward guest seating area.
The rest is up to you to personalize. Xtenders typically invites buyers to request paint colors, seat coverings, and more. Some of the choices for the Xtenders 8m limousine tender series include dimmable windows, for more privacy, as well as a refrigerated beverage cabinet. Ask for a stereo system, TV, or multimedia entertainment setup inside, too. Of course, air conditioning is available as well. Your captain can even specify a particular drivetrain, related to where you’ll be using the tender the most.
Xtenders has already delivered its first 8m limousine tender to the 220-foot (67-meter) Global. The crew reports great satisfaction with the performance, as well as the styling.
