With the Palm Beach International Boat Show this week, Sanlorenzo is among several European builders planning to be there. The timing is ideal for clients to meet the new Sanlorenzo Americas team. And, the team sees new growth opportunities here stateside.
Following a decade of overseeing and growing operations, meeting clients, and related business, George Jousma has departed the company. Stepping in as vice president of sales for Sanlorenzo Americas is Marco Segato. Segato is a longtime yachting professional. Previously, he served as vice president of sales for Latin America for a sister company, yachtBlue. Prior to this, Segato represented various Ferretti Group brands in the Americas.
Even with the departure of Jousma, there’s still a connection. Boomer Jousma, George’s son, remains with Sanlorenzo Americas. He additionally is leading the builder’s efforts in the northeastern United States, where dedicated sales reps have a focus.
Sanlorenzo Americas will continue to inform customers about new models newly launched, as well as on the drawing boards. For the former, for example, the Sanlorenzo SX88 made her American debut at the just-concluded Miami Yacht Show. For the latter, there’s the Sanlorenzo SL102. Though full details aren’t yet available, the builder does say that she features an asymmetrical interior layout. Another new model coming soon: the SX72.
For his part, Segato says the American market is quite strategic for the builder. “Sanlorenzo is broadening the range of products, and consequently the potential client base,” he adds. “The focus now is in expanding our sales network of the Americas brand representatives and dealers.”
