By week’s end, Horizon Yacht will have handed over six new projects in August alone, four being megayachts. While some are existing series, such as the Horizon FD85, one is from its newest series, the Horizon CC115. Equally noteworthy, the owners of the latter yacht had some highly unusual requests, including a sea plane as a tender.
Commissioned by seasoned cruisers from Mexico, the Horizon CC115 is a family yacht in every way. The owners have a big family, in fact, and plan on taking them out on their various trips. They therefore worked closely with Horizon and Cor D. Rover Design, responsible for styling and interior design, to tailor the megayacht to their needs and desires. The “CC” in the model name stands for Custom Collection, meaning Horizon offers far more customization than usual.
The above-mentioned sea plane is one significant example. As a result, their Horizon CC115 has a reinforced, hi-low swim platform to carry it. Yet another example is a fun feature, a family theater. Interestingly, it’s not what you might assume. While many a megayacht devotes an interior area to movies and popcorn, this Horizon CC115 has an alfresco theater. When the stars come out in the sky, the Hollywood stars appear on a screen on the foredeck. (The standard arrangement up here includes sunpads and a seating/dining nook.)
With a beam of 25 feet (7.62 meters), the new megayacht has additional personalized arrangements inside. While Horizon isn’t revealing specifics, the suggested general arrangement includes a main-deck master suite. It also includes sliding glass doors amidships, yielding access to the side deck. Since the owners of hull number one have a large family, perhaps they’ve requested four staterooms below decks.
You’ll have to wait until the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show to see the arrangement for yourself. The event marks the international debut of the Horizon CC115. On a related note, at the same show, Horizon will have an E88, another one of the four megayachts completed this month.
Also in related news, Horizon will have an RP110 at the Cannes Yachting Festival as well as the Monaco Yacht Show next month. The model made her American debut at FLIBS in 2017. The September shows mark the RP110’s European debut.
