Following her debut at the Boot Dusseldorf show in January, the new flagship for Cranchi is making a splash. She is a notable achievement for the shipyard, which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. The Cranchi 78 Settantotto represents its first flying-bridge motoryacht exceeding 70 feet (21.3 meters).
The actual LOA of the Cranchi 78 Settantotto is 82’5” (25.15 meters). Her waterline length, though, is closer to the numeral in her name. “Settantotto” even translates to “seventy eight” from Italian. Her beam, meanwhile, is 18’9” (5.76 meters).
As you would expect of a megayacht, spaces cater to leisure time with friends and family. They start with a raising and lowering swim platform, which can also hold a few sun lounges. Just forward, the teak-clad garage holds a PWC and a tender. At the bow, a U-shape settee and big sunpad are inviting, too. Up on the flying bridge, a combination of shade and sun make the area enjoyable for long afternoons.
While we wait for the full photo shoot, for now, know that the Cranchi 78 Settantotto offers choices for the interior. For instance, you can have a maximum of four staterooms, including your own, below decks. Naturally, the master suite spans the full beam. Combinations of double cabins and twin cabins are possible as well. On the main deck, the general arrangement emphasizes open air and lightness, especially sunlight streaming in through the large ports. It also includes a handy day head.
The biggest choices come in the four Cranchi 78 Settantotto decor packages. Christian Grande, who collaborated with the yard for styling, is also the interior designer. Depending on the mood you’d like to set, select from the Siracusa, Milano, Roma, and Venezia decors. With Siracusa, expect glossy surfaces with black edges, oak soles and paneling, bright marbles, and light-gray fabrics. The Milano package combines burnished aluminum, steel, and nickel, thoroughly modern. Classicists may prefer the Roma decor, with natural landscape tones and striped marbles. Finally, Venezia puts punches of orange leather amid mirrored glass and amber tones.
Your captain and two crewmembers will see to the Cranchi 78 Settantotto swiftly cruising to your favorite shores. The triple Volvo Penta IPS package should allow a top speed around 29 knots.
