One hundred feet (30.5 meters) of leisure space traveling at 27 to 28 knots sounds like fun. Enough customers of Fipa Group, the parent company for Maiora, felt this way that it created the Maiora 30 Convertible for that purpose. Hull number one, Gulu II, launched last week, suited as much for private enjoyment as she is party time.
The Maiora 30 Convertible draws largely on the Maiora 30 Walkaround. The difference is that “Convertible” refers to a skylounge capable of becoming an indoor-outdoor zone with the open aft area. In fact, the skylounge has opening windows as well as a pocket aft door. Even if you don’t convert the Convertible, however, you still can relax in about 540 square feet (50 square meters) of skylounge space.
You can also relax one level below, of course, with moving around made easier thanks to side decks. While the bow area is more of a work space, guests can still access it. Aft, meanwhile, the owner of Gulu II plans to enjoy alfresco lunches with good company. Therefore, the main aft deck is extra ample, deeper than typical for a megayacht of this LOA.
Inside, meanwhile, feels welcoming, with a 24’6” (7.5-meter) beam and a semi-custom interior arrangement. The owner worked with Maiora’s in-house design department and Fossati Design Bureau to select top Italian marques, marbles, and more. This particular Maiora 30 Convertible has a traditional saloon and formal dining area, although some customers may turn the space on their yachts into a big cinema. Additionally, the owner of Gulu II opted for a main-deck master suite, with the en suite bath doubling as a soothing Hammam.
Speaking of soothing, hull number one additionally has a sauna fully aft on the lower deck. Since it’s a few steps from the water, guests may feel like the harbor is their plunge pool. Still on the lower deck, and equally unusual, this Maiora 30 Convertible carries a 20-foot (6.1-meter) tender in a side garage.
With four guest staterooms, two having Pullmans, Gulu II will run with a complement of five crew.
