Yacht owners know Silverlining for its fine furnishings, which adorn saloons, staterooms, and more around the world. The company now has its first outdoor collection, in direct response to customer requests. The Silverlining Sea + Shore collection draws inspiration from marine life’s patterns and textures.
With more than three decades of experience, the Silverlining team spent 18 months researching underwater residents’ fascinating shapes. Coral, kelp, and even lava all captured the designers’ attention. Then they fine-tuned design options, including the colors of the sea and shore, and developed different furnishing selections. (This isn’t too dissimilar to how Silverlining has custom designed and custom crafted pieces like Ocean Boulevard for customers.) The collection now includes five tabletop designs, especially for use as coffee tables and dining tables.
For instance, the Silverlining Sea + Shore collection includes the table pictured, the Maze Coral round dining table in teak. It stands a little over 29 inches (750 millimeters) in height. The glossy teak top has an ombré effect, with a sand-carved, polished-glass center picking up the same coral pattern. Shell white lacquer rims the teak, for classically nautical flair.
Notably, the table can come as a coffee table instead, at just shy of 20 inches (500 millimeters) high. Yet another option—which surely holds strong appeal for superyachts—is incorporating a telescopic base. Keep it at the full height extension for daytime use, and lower it when evening cocktails or other entertainment starts. Dimmable LEDs are further optional to draw more attention to the glass, creating an extra-special effect at night.
Overall, the five tables in the Silverlining Sea + Shore collection offer an extraordinary 210 combinations of looks. This includes lacquer ombré patterns (in two tones as well), plus hand-shaded wood marquetry. Intaglio stainless steel, which is a design created by etching the metal, is available, too. As for patterns, check out the designs of ribbons of kelp, besides coral.
