Sailing superyachts of 110 feet (33 meters) typically don’t cross oceans on their own. Sunreef Yachts believes more adventurous souls are out there, however, and has a new project encouraging their explorations. In fact, the shipyard says the 33M Sunreef Explorer Eco yacht series will leverage solar power to allow crossing the Pacific Ocean and remain autonomous, silently.
The Polish shipyard’s latest catamaran certainly boasts plenty of room for creature comforts along the way. Specifically, she offers 5,759 square feet (535 square meters) of living space. That includes accommodations for 10, most notably a flying-bridge master suite. Other than the wheelhouse, the deck is reserved for personal use, with the stateroom looking aft over tailor-arranged sunning and/or seating areas. The remaining four guest staterooms, including two VIPs, go on the main deck, forward of the saloon and dining areas. With a 37-foot (11.2-meter) beam, interior and alfresco areas (which incorporate a pool) are more than capacious. Of course, since the 33M Sunreef Explorer Eco yacht series is semi-custom, the shipyard will adapt layouts as you wish, creating a spa, a gym, an indoor cinema, or other areas. The yard does, though, intend to use recycled and recyclable fabrics and materials throughout the décor.
Above all, however, the 33M Sunreef Explorer Eco yacht series is for venturing to high and low latitudes. The Explorer series has the input of the renowned adventurer Mike Horn. Horn has circumnavigated the equator aboard a non-motorized boat, among other accomplishments. Redundant systems therefore lend peace of mind in remote areas. Solar panels within the twin hulls, superstructure, hardtop, and even the bow terrace will feed all hotel loads via a “smart” energy-management system. Additionally, and especially interesting, the shipyard plans to incorporate a rainwater collection system. It further plans to install a hot-water system relying on waste-heat recovery.
Once at your destination, offload any of a variety of exploration-oriented watertoys. You can have a dedicated dive area, along with stowage for e-foils, e-bikes, and more. Fold-down platforms aft to each side of the hulls creates extra toy-boarding areas and sunning spaces, too.
