If cruising makes you feel like you’re in seventh heaven, then the seventh Martinique model from Moonen Yachts may be your perfect match. She’s hull YN205, a Moonen 122 Martinique, with a quick delivery date in late April 2025.
With a volume of 345 gross tons, the pocket-size superyacht, as Moonen calls its projects, is still in the early stages of construction. Since her hull just turned during the last days of October, the full interior is yours to imagine. Since she’s a spec build, Moonen tapped a studio to provide potential buyers with inspiration. That studio is Netherlands-based Hollander Yacht Design, which previously designed a Martinique yacht. The co-founders, Simon Hollander and Alexandra Nicolaescu, formed the company in 2019 after working for major design firms. These include Sinot Yacht Design and De Voogt Naval Architects. More notably, though, they are focused on sustainability, selecting luxury materials from brands that equally want to do right by the environment.
Regardless of what décor you select, the layout is yours to personalize, too. If you’re a traditionalist, you’ll certainly want a skylounge. It can encompass 291 square feet (27 square meters), being a cozy lounge or a dedicated cinema, for example. Yet another must-have is a main-deck master suite. Moonen can set aside nearly 400 square feet (37 square meters) for your rest and relaxation. Finally, for ideas up top, the sundeck can have a healthy-size hot tub, a bar, a dining area, and more.
While you’re weighing how to configure the maximum five staterooms aboard the the Moonen 122 Martinique, know that the engineering package is proven. The megayacht offers the same propulsion package and therefore performance as her predecessors. Four Martinique yachts are in owners’ hands already, in fact, with two more in the completion stages for delivery next year. Their sea trials therefore mean you can expect a top speed of around 17 knots. You can expect strong range, too, 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. That’s more than adequate to cross the Atlantic. Speaking of crossing, thanks to the relatively shallow draft of 7 feet (2.1 meters), you can hop over to the Bahamas. That’s a rarity for a steel-hulled yacht.
Eighteen months should go by pretty fast making all these cruising plans.
