Though photos are not yet available, the keel of Moonen YN203 is currently complete, waiting for the rest of the hull to join it. The Dutch shipyard anticipates hull plating and superstructure construction to start soon, leading eventually to the launch of a 337-gross-ton project.
Moonen YN203 follows in the footsteps of megayachts like Botti, which just hit the water several weeks ago, as well as Kokoro and Brigadoon. This is due to her being a Martinique series project. Therefore, styling is by René van der Velden, and naval architecture is by Diana Yacht Design. Even though she’s based on a set technical platform, however, the megayacht is still customized. In fact, the owners requested an elongated sundeck—something that the owners of Botti did, too. Additionally, they wanted a deeper swim platform, specifically providing a further 86 square feet (8 square meters) of usable space. These changes take the normally 118-foot (36-meter) Martinique model and turn her into a 122-foot (37.3-meter) yacht.
Because construction is still at quite an early stage, the owners are still contemplating the look and feel they want for the interiors. They’re collaborating with Studio Indigo, which played an integral role with all of the Martinique yachts so far. The yacht has the ability to accommodate a total of 12 guests and seven crewmembers, which it seems likely these clients will want as well.
Regardless of their décor decisions, since her technical platform remains unchanged, Moonen YN203 should still see transatlantic range. The shipyard anticipates her achieving 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots under Caterpillar power. Notably, though, the megayacht will have a top speed slightly higher than her predecessors at 16½ knots. The prior launches all see 14 knots.
Moonen says the yacht will be ready by March 2024. That’s just in time for the owners to embark on their first summer season onboard in the Mediterranean.
