To call the charter yacht Alfa Nero iconic is just the tip of the iceberg. When she debuted nearly 20 years ago, she elicited double takes with her dramatically different styling. Few people, though, ever got to see her interior, since she was strictly private, remaining so with subsequent owners. Her current owner has her available for charter for the first time, and to the delight of industry insiders, he’s kept the equally iconic interior. For a weekly rate starting at $812,500, guests can now step aboard and indulge in all of the aspects that make her special.
This 269-footer’s (82-meter) black and white color scheme outside catches your attention as much as her elongated aft deck. From the drawing boards of Nuvolari Lenard, that big deck space may not seem unusual. But, in the early to mid-2000s, when her initial owner commissioned her, it was anything but typical. In fact, it immediately became her most recognizable feature. Just as surprising was having a pool sitting practically at the transom’s edge—a pool with a sliding deck area to cover it, no less. Then, and now as a charter yacht Alfa Nero lets guests indulge in day-to-night enjoyment and entertainment out here.
When her owner acquired her (Alfa Nero sold, for good, in July 2024, via an auction in Antigua), not only did he leave her exterior features the same, but also preserved her interior. Experiencing the saloons, dining areas, and more throughout the decks are a tremendous part of what makes a week’s vacation onboard all the more worthwhile. Arguably, although yachts are for taking you to beautiful destinations, Alfa Nero is a destination herself, too. The late designer Alberto Pinto wove together rich woods, deep lacquers, leathers, and dazzling art—some not on the walls. For instance, a grand piano in the main saloon is for admiring visually as much as sonically. The main saloon additionally has a number of Lichtensteins, hanging against wenge-clad walls. Fabrics and floors here, and throughout the decks, also dazzle your senses.
Overall, 13,455 square feet (1,250 square meters) of social and secluded space spreads across the decks. With individualized staterooms spread across three of those decks, it may be difficult for friends and family to choose which they like the best. Despite the master suite, on the upper deck, being quite opulent, one stateroom near the spa below decks is fit for the king and queen of any charter party. Those wanting pampering during a vacation definitely will want to stay in it, since it has access to the spa.
With a 25-person crew and a 12-guest capacity, personalized service is extra high onboard. Enjoy the tour.
