While Gresham Yacht Design has borne the name of Steve Gresham (above right) since 2011, it’s not a one-person studio. To better reflect the collaborative effort, it’s rebranding as Gresham Marshall.
With headquarters in London, the design studio offers services ranging from interior design and exterior styling to project management. Naturally, powerboats and superyachts are among its projects, often with stand-out style elements that enhance sightlines and other owner and guest experiences. These elements simultaneously ensure the yachts don’t blend into a crowded field. Currently, the studio is collaborating with Romeo Marine for the 197-foot (60-meter) Romeo 60 (below).
The studio is also behind a prominent commercial vessel, though. OceanXplorer, a 285-foot (87-meter) research vessel for OceanX, features exterior styling and interior arrangement from the team. These include the helicopter and sub hangars, for instance, as well as labs. The vessel appeared in the BBC’s Blue Planet series.
Steve Gresham remains part of Gresham Marshall, of course. “Marshall” is Mark Marshall (top left). According to Gresham, he is key to the studio’s success. “The best creative partnerships are built over time,” he notes. “Through years of working together, Mark and I have developed a shared understanding of what great yacht design should be: innovative, purposeful, and uncompromising in quality.” Gresham adds, “What began as a working relationship developed into a genuine creative partnership built on mutual respect, shared values, and a common vision for design. Bringing that partnership into the name of the business felt like a natural and important step in our evolution.”
