Arcadia Yachts has delivered four A115 megayachts so far. Despite the relative newness, it still felt there was room for something different. In fact, it felt there was room for a few things different. So, with the Hot Lab design studio, it has restyled the profile and redesigned the interior. This fifth hull is currently in build on spec, ready for an early 2021 delivery.
While some of the changes are subtle, they should make big differences. For instance, the upper-deck lounge, a.k.a. the winter garden (above and below), now boasts better views. Hot Lab designed low-height furnishings to allow owners and guests better views when in the room. “We worked so that the transparency clearly perceived when viewing the A115 from outside can be experienced inside as well,” Enrico Lumini of Hot Lab explains. Furthermore, all furnishings are away from the full-height ports. Yet another example, the TV and other big focal pieces hang, reducing interference with the vistas.
Another design change involves the arch that characterizes the Arcadia Yachts A series. Hot Lab incorporated similar shapes throughout the decks, primarily in foyers and stairways, “to bring to mind the exterior line when standing inside,” Lumini says.
Otherwise, the fifth hull in the A115 series has features similar to her previously delivered sisters. Solar panels still sit embedded within the glass superstructure panes, to reduce reliance on gensets for hotel loads. As another example, four guest staterooms are below decks, while the owners’ suite sits forward on the main deck. Additionally, it encompasses 431 square feet (40 square meters). Overall, the A115 offers 5,382 square feet (500 square meters) of usable space spread over three decks.
On one more interesting note, the A115 incorporates class-required solutions for commercial operations (a.k.a. charter). Ugo Pellegrino, Arcadia Yachts’ director, says the team decided to do this because the four previous A115s each have averaged upwards of 10 weeks of charter per year. “Even if the owner decides to use the yacht for personal cruising, the features required by charter-class yachts will be to the advantage of the crew on board as well,” he concludes.
