Turkey-based Numarine is freshening up the looks of its smallest megayacht models. Both the Numarine 78 Hardtop (above) and Numarine 78 Flybridge (below) will be available come early 2015 with the styling seen here.
Interesting enough, the restyling resulted from initially wanting to replace the yachts. “Each and every time a concept was put together for replacement models of this size category, we confirmed our initial instinct that the existing hulls and configurations did everything perfectly as they were,” says Omer Malaz, Numarine’s owner and CEO. The team switched gears to take advantage of current trends.
Can Yalman collaborated with the in-house team in that respect. The Numarine 78 Hardtop has enlarged ports to bring more of the outdoors inside. The ones in the hull sides, beneath the haunches flanking the superstructure, are especially larger. Previously three small ports were below decks here. Similarly, the Numarine 78 Flybridge has a far larger port below decks.
Remaining unchanged is the all-fiberglass construction of each model and the overall specifications. LOA stays at 78’7” (23.98 meters), including the swim platform. Beam is 18’10” (5.79 meters). Draft is a skinny-water-friendly 5’6” (1.7 meters). Eight people in the owner’s party and three crewmembers are accommodated. Buyers can further still customize the interior to their tastes.
Since engineering remained the same, the Numarine 78 Hardtop and Numarine 78 Flybridge should still see a cruising speed around 25 knots. That permits a reported range of 400 nautical miles. Top end should remain in the high 20s to 32 knots. Power comes courtesy of twin Caterpillar C18 ACERTs.
Construction on the new styles starts in September at Numarine’s 376,737-square-foot (35,000-square-meter) shipyard in Istanbul.
