If you’re in the market for a megayacht, a 125-footer just a few weeks away from completion at Northcoast Yachts could be yours. Jim Eden of International Yacht Collection has the central listing and says the $17.9-million yacht is meticulously constructed. “I have been involved in the construction of over 80 new-build projects in my career and have rarely seen such incredible attention to detail, and it’s American made!” he explains.

Styled by the yard’s in-house team, led by Paul Fredrickson, the all-fiberglass, 125’6″ vessel features accommodations for 11 guests in five staterooms and six crew in three cabins. The layout is pretty traditional in some respects, with the saloon (above) and dining area open to each other, the master suite fully forward on the main deck, and four guest staterooms below decks, one of which contains a Pullman. In addition, the 125 contains a raised pilothouse and, fully up top, a sundeck with an extra helm forward, Jacuzzi amidships opposite a bar and grill, and sunning area and tender stowage aft. As for speed, twin 1,925-hp Caterpillar C32 diesels are expected to permit a 22-knot top end.
But there are some noteworthy differences that should catch a buyer’s attention, too. If you take a close look at the saloon image, you’ll notice the seating area is forward and the dining area is aft–the opposite of the typical layout. Also note the raised ceiling above the seats: That’s nine-foot headroom, which, in combination with the wide windows to each side, will likely make the 25’5″-beam boat feel even more spacious.
Then there’s the master suite’s bath, located down a few steps and lit by a skylight. I’ve seen similar layouts on yachts about the same size as this one, and it’s quite an effective use of space.
There’s even a change of pace in the pilothouse. Sure, guests can sit right near the captain and observe the goings-on, but when’s the last time you heard of an adjustable chaise-lounge-type of seat being part of the observation area? The helm even has flat-screen monitors that can fold down flush.
