Although you wouldn’t know it to read it, the name of the ISA Classic 65 Resilience pays homage to her owner. In fact, the 213-footer (65-meter) is more than the next step in his ownership journey. She’s the result of patient determination to get what he wants.
Patience may be an understatement. A few years into owning a 164-footer (50-meter), a brokerage buy, he considered commissioning a custom yacht. He and his representative from Edmiston compiled ideas based on multiple yacht tours and shipyard visits, again over a few years. Ultimately choosing ISA Yachts, the owner specified a superyacht with great flexibility and even greater volume. Then came the pandemic, pausing construction. Patience paid off once again, though, with launch last summer and delivery later in the year.
Specifically in terms of being voluminous, Resilience is 1,400 gross tons. Yet, even with six decks, she appears deceivingly lean. Team for Design – Enrico Gobbi, responsible for styling, did this purposely. “Nothing is left to chance in this design,” Gobbi explains. “Even the double-color blue and white exterior paint was designed for the same purpose as the black windows, which is to confer on the yacht a streamlined and dynamic profile from stem to stern.”
Suiting the dynamic notion, Resilience has a particular guest-oriented energy inside, where Gobbi and the design studio also collaborated with the owner. Firstly, although she’ll primarily cruise with up to 12 passengers, the megayacht has two convertible areas for further guests. One is a cabin on the main deck, near the galley (making it additionally convenient for staff or crew). The other is a sleeper sofa in the owner’s private office on the bridge deck (above), where an en suite head and balcony also augment the space. Since a dedicated VIP stateroom, with a balcony, is on the same level, whoever occupies it will be in good company.
Also versatile, the glass surrounding the saloon and formal dining area (above) aboard all slide open. This makes for an even airier ambience, considering the beam is 39 feet (12 meters). It connects guests more with the nearly 20-foot-long (6-meter-long) pool fully aft, too. Plus, doors separating the saloon and dining area slide open for one seamless experience.
And, finally, ISA Yachts considers the sundeck quite versatile as well. Similar to the main deck, it has articulated doors amidships that can fully open up the deck fore to aft, or enclose the central area (above). Regardless, guests can soak in a mosaic-tiled hot tub forward, rinse off under the nearby shower, then head aft either to the stairs leading down below or pass them to dine alfresco. The dining table and accompanying lounging area each are shaded by the hardtop, which has skylights.
Resilience decidedly pampers her guests. Additional features are an alfresco fireplace, movie screens, and a massage area off the beach club. All the while, she reminds guests (including charter guests, via Edmiston) they’re enjoying the ocean. Varying shades of blue, along with a glass jellyfish sculpture by the four lower-deck staterooms, do the trick.
Of course, Resilience pampers her owner, too. The fruits of an extensive amount of time carefully planning.
