The 1,400-gross-ton Resilience took to the water at ISA Yachts, following a traditional christening ceremony with the owner and his family on hand. In less than two months, the new megayacht will show why Resilience is an apt word for the project, given the past year.
Giuseppe Palumbo, CEO of Palumbo Superyachts, noted this at the christening and launch ceremony, in fact. He thanked the owner and family members, saying they “have expressed a feeling that has seen us all united and resilient against the pandemic.” The 213-footer (65-meter) had to pause construction during the pandemic last year due to lockdown orders in Italy. Work restarted, however, in May 2020.
Featuring styling and interior design by Enrico Gobbi of Team for Design, Resilience has several areas surely having great appeal once the family begins cruising. For example, depending on how many of them come aboard, they have six or seven staterooms. In the standard configuration, the megayacht has five guest staterooms in addition to the full-beam, main-deck owner’s suite. However, a seventh cabin comes about when converting a lounge area.

Leisure time together, and even privately, is certainly important to the family, considering the yacht contains a few special areas. For instance, she has a massage room, with a sea view, too. She also has a Turkish bath. Two different swimming pools are onboard as well, with one containing countercurrent jets for a workout. At nighttime, Resilience’s crew can prepare popcorn and other delicious snacks for the outdoor cinema area.
For on-water fun, of course, Resilience carries two PWCs and two tenders. The fold-down transom is the perfect boarding and disembarking point, sitting flush with the fixed swim platform. Those who wish to watch the waterborne action from the yacht can, inside a beautifully designed beach club, with a Murano glass bar.
